Topic #1: Starting Amaya/permissions
A) If I type 'amaya' in xterm, Amaya opens, but the default file </sw/share/Amaya/amaya/AmayaPage.html> is blank. If I start Amaya using 'sudo amaya' then voila! like magic, I see text, pictures, etc.
The Amaya directory - like my GIMP directory, for example - is owned by root, natch. However, I can execute GIMP with a simple 'gimp' at the prompt in xterm, and can use the application, save, etc. Does anyone know why Amaya requires sudo, when other fink apps don't?
Topic #2: Using Amaya
A) Links
I have to double-click a link to get it to open. I can cmd-single-click and open a link in another window, but otherwise must double-click. I've set three-button emulation in X11, but neither option-click nor cmd-click allow single-click execution of a link. Is this a bug? or a feature?
B) Window size
Each window defaults to a size taller than my screen. I have to maximize the window so I can see the bottom, then drag the resize corner to adjust. I don't want to open Amaya every time I use X, so editing my .xinitrc file is out (unless I'm wrong, which is possible :). Suggestions?
I searched both the -beginners and -users list archives, checked the Amaya home page, and of course looked around the fink documentation. If I've overlooked some online documentation or resource that answers these questions, just point me there. Otherwise, any insight is welcome.
Thanks -
