OK, installed kdebase3-dev and the compile finally went through. So the next command was, of course, make. And it errors out after a long time with:

make[5]: *** [copycluster] Error 1
make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2

Thanks for all the help so far.

Unfortunately, I had to leave %p as /sw everywhere in order for it to work. So, I got past the Qt issue, now after a much longer compile I get the following error:

checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

I guess I may need to add more "--with-xxxx " lines?

Did you install kdebase3-dev?
