This has been discussed in the lists: you need to remove all your freetype and freetype2 packages, by force if need be.
I have the same problem too, and have, after searching the archives, tried this approach. Removed, rebuilt, reinstalled. Still get the same error.
Can anyone else offer insight into what might be causing the problem?
