What is the old version ? I have only one version and I had no version before the updating.
This is very strange, considering the following two informations:
libwww-pm581_5.76-10_darwin-powerpc.deb (--install) :
trying to replace ? /sw/bin/lwp-download ?, which is part of package libwww-pm
which shows that you had a version of libwww-pm installed that contained at least one file.
Both versions were installed this morning when I update-all'd after selfupdate.

And
(i) libwww-pm 5.76-10 Placeholder for versioned libwww packages
which shows that the version of libwww-pm you had installed is older than 5.76-10. The latter is the current version in 10.3/unstable and doesn't install any files. Anyway, updating libwww-pm should give you the latest version.
When I updated libwww-pm, it wanted to install again libwww-pm-581, which then again wanted... Kind of 'quadrature of circle'.

Well, like a brave little girl, I've done:
fink update libwww-pm and it successed.
fink update xml-dom-pm and it successed.

And I retrieved all the packages I removed. Many, many thanks.
