I am trying to install emacs20 in order to install auctex. I am running into this problem:
sudo apt-get install emacs20
Reading Package Lists... Done

Sorry, emacs20 is already the newest version.

so, I looked around on the archive and find this thread

which describe the same problem and a solution. The solution is to run: <x-tad-bigger>sudo /sw/var/lib/fink/prebound/update-package-prebinding.pl -f
</x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger>and then to delete some corrupted file : </x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger>/sw/var/lib/fink/prebound/seg_addr_table*</x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger>
</x-tad-bigger><x-tad-bigger>In my case when I run the update-package-prebinding everything seems fine and I even try to delete the corrupted file and run the update again but i still get the same error as before.
Any more suggestions?
