I've twice installed Xcode, X11, fink, and fink
commander. I can usually install the binary packages
without problems, but downloading and compiling apps
hasn't worked nine times out of ten. I tried running
"fink selfupdate" in terminal, but it failed. Here is
the error message:

fink-0.19.2/VERSION
make test
Creating fink...
./setup.sh: line 34: 1183 Segmentation fault sed
"s|@BASEPATH@|$basepath|g" <fink.in >fink

And here is my system info (iMac 600 w/ 512 MB RAM):
