How about force-remove? I usually use fink commander, but I think the correct command is

dpkg --force-remove libwww

The force-remove command can be invoked from fink commander.

have installed?

Anyway, for me it worked. I had the same error as you, and I have the
new version of amaya installed now.

Strange. Well, as I have said, I don't mind to wait. :-)
