gcc3 is the name of the gcc-3.1 executable. Some programs cannot be compiled with gcc-3.3, they need gcc-3.1.

Without error? Did it compile and install the fig2dev, fig2ps2tex etc executables? Look at "dpkg -L transfig | grep bin". It should show 5 executables in /sw/bin.


Just thought I'd let everyone know...

The maintainer should be the first to be told about this. I am CCing him.


FYI: I'm running 10.3.3 with XTools 1.2

In the first dev tools for Panther, gcc-3.1 was always automatically included. This seems not to be the case now. The transfig package should probably have a dependency on the virtual package gcc3.1, or use the clumsy "GCC: 3.1" field.
