Hello all,

I was wondering: does the community think there would be value in setting up a fink wiki?

I think so. I'm a new user to fink & to OS X, and I feel most of my questions end up being about completely routine tweaks that are needed to "complete" the install of certain fink package beyond what fink itself can do. For instance, I'm in the process of figuring out how to enable the meta key in the xemacs package, and how to get swig package's examples to work correctly given the way fink breaks swig's usual directory layout.

Such issues as these are too numerous and detailed for a single FAQ but just right for a wiki, which could grow a page for every package, where people could deposit their notes about installation. Maybe such issues even make up the majority of our problems...

Do others think there would be value in this, or am I smoking crack?

I do not have access to hosting resources, but if they are available elsewhere I would be glad to set up the wiki myself. (I'm assuming there's not much administration involved, or am I on crack here as well? Has wikispam hit yet?)

Cheers,
Alexis
