Hi,

I see by the package database that gtk+2 in current-10.2-gcc3.3
(2.2.1 (unstable) and 2.0.6 (stable)) is behind current-10.3 and
even 0.7.0 (2.2.4). May I respectfully request an update?

I'm not a heavy user/developer, but I am in a position to be a
guinea pig for at least minimal testing. Can I help?

Also, gtk+2 still depends on freetype2, which I thought was now
deprecated because XFree86 now includes it. I'm running XFree86
4.4.0 (installed from the binaries at XFree86.org). Can I safely
purge freetype2 from my system?

Thank you for your assistance, as well as your continued efforts
with fink.

ObVersionInformation (I just ran fink selfupdate this morning):

$ sw_vers; fink --version
ProductName:    Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.2.8
BuildVersion:   6R73
Package manager version: 0.20.5
Distribution version: 0.7.0.cvs

$ fink list gtk+2
Information about 3096 packages read in 3 seconds.
 i   gtk+2            2.2.1-7      The Gimp Toolkit
 i   gtk+2-dev        2.2.1-7      The Gimp Toolkit
 i   gtk+2-shlibs     2.2.1-7      The Gimp Toolkit

(Okay, now I'm more confused than I was a moment ago. If there's
a quick explanation of wyy fink says my distribution is 0.7.0 but
still only offers me gtk+2 2.2.1, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise,
I'll try to hunt that down myself. Thanks.)

Regards,
Dan Sommers
