Someone also forwarded a link to http://gimp-app.sourceforge.net/ where you can download and install a GIMP2 disk image. As long as you have X installed, it should work.


Note that Mr. Strange has fink users at version 2.0.4-1, while the gimp-app project is at version 2.0.3-2.

The gimp-app package will install .gimp-2.0 and .gimp-2.0-etc directories in your home directory. So if you're already using fink's gimp2, this could cause problems.

Also, fink's gimp2 doesn't (or didn't, the last time I installed it) require you to go through the configuration process.

That said, would the workaround for having both installed be similar to the workaround for using the xorg package? That is, to move .gimp-2.0 to .gimp-2.0_dmg, etc?
