Hi I have a working X11 via the apple packages. I want to install the system-xfree86 pseudopackage but I'm having trouble making the system notice that I have it installed.
I am using fink commander: is this the problem? Clicking on the system-xfree86 package, and then on the "install binary" or "install from source" buttons seems to have no effect; when I go back to install the package I want (pgplot), it insists on downloading and building the entire xfree86 distribution from source. (pgplot is in the unstable tree and only available as source) I did a little poking under the hood. dpkg -l doesn't show the system-xfree86 package. However apt-cache show system-xfree86 gives the status line - Status: install ok installed Que? Can someone tell me the correct procedure for making fink commander notice that system-xfree86 is installed. Confused, Vince PS: version numbers. fink-0.7.1, finkcommander-0.5.3, OS/X 10.3, Xcode1.1. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
