Does anyone know what I can do? Has this happened to others? I saw where there had been some trouble with postgresql74-ssl earlier in the list, but it was a different problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Yes, I had responded. You can't install postgresql74 *and* postgresql74-ssl at the same time, you have to pick one or the other. You'll have to remove postgresql74 (and friends) if you want to have the ssl version installed instead.
