I'm using Apple's latest X11 on the Mac, and Cygwin's Xorg 6.8.1.0-1. Trying to figure out the interdependencies between application, X server, and X client makes my head spin, however, so I'm not sure which of those versions is relevant.

Hmm...I get the same behavior with Xorg on both of my Macs. I'll retract my earlier guess.
