You are right, I did get a reply from Martin and I appreciate it but that did not tell me anything that I already did not know (I knew that the problem was an extra libfreetype.dylib).
To answer your question (and as I said in the first email), the only libfreetype.dylib's are here:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libfreetype.dylib
/opt/local/lib/libfreetype.dylib (installed by darwin ports, this can't be the one interfering, can it?)

It would be harder than trying to find why you've got the extra libfreetype.dylib. Fink deals with packages, not individual files, so you'd have to create a placeholder package that talks to your homebuilt libglade and then you'd have to modify anything that depends on libglade such that it also depends on your placeholder.
I really need to do this in order to develop mono applications, so I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.
