After finally getting tired of not having a text tool in Gimp I
finally broke down and did some debugging. I was a little slower than
Mr. Strange in realizing that it was a dyld problem, but today finally
came around to the same conclusion. My trials and tribulations are
over at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=303849 for those
that are interested.

Good news is that I might have a fix! If you run "export
DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=/sw/lib/freetype219/lib" before running gimp-2.2
then the text tool works. Anyone else out there still have a 2.2.4
version from fink that they can test? And and this is the solution,
any chance we can get 2.2.7? :)
