If xemacs did not get updated but Xaw3d did, try rebuilding xemacs. I had the same thing happen to me a while back, and this resolved the issue. (You may have to rebuild some other X clients as well, like gv, but it's safe to wait until they crash before you do.) Meta question: why did Xaw3d change in a way that broke binary compatibility without forcing the client apps to recompile?
