Peter--

Fink has better dependency information than DarwinPorts, but it's not
perfect.  You might want to check and make sure that libjpeg is
installed ("fink list libjpeg", and if there's an i on the left it
means it's installed).  If it's not installed, install it and then try
your compile again.  Let us know what you find.
