They did submit it to the package tracker, on 1 Feb 2005.  They  probably gave up waiting to get it through the approval process.

Thanks for digging this out, I guess I should have checked the tracker. Maybe we can revive this after all.

I expect we'll see more packages that use fink, but are released outside of the fink distribution system.  Packagers probably get frustrated at the great length of time required to get packages through the approval process.  We saw a bit of a burst of activity in getting packages approved lately, but there are still over 100 package submissions with status "Undergoing Validation", and some of them have been over two years in the approval process.

It's worth pointing out that not a few of these just flat don't work, and often the submitter never followed up on the comments that were given by a tester.

There are over 100 with status of "Undergoing Validation", which in principle means the submitter has responded to the tester comments, and is waiting for the testers to take the next step.  Perhaps in some cases the submitter hasn't properly responded to all tester comments, but if so, the tester should add new comments and change the status back to "Awaiting Update from Submitter".

There are another 80 odd with status of  "Awaiting Update from Submitter".
