Since the above error is from glib, I tried rebuilding unison 2.10.2 after
installing the latest update to glib2 (2.8.0-2) -- and it now works!
OK, it's not my day: I just got the Glib error again while
syncing a different set of files. But my guess is it is
hitting a non-ascii character in a file name it doesn't
like: does this sound plausible? I have some dodgy
filenames in this set of files that got there from
cut'n'paste to name downloaded files...
This would tally with the original poster who was working in
French so also probably had accented characters of various
sorts in filenames?
