Not really: It knows about 8.0 and 8.1, but when it was released, 8.2 was in the future. It does the right thing for 8.2, however, namely apart from the warning it treats it the same as 8.0 or 8.1. This is the difference to the one from your old bindist 0.7.2 which treated the 8.x darwin releases as if they were from OSX 10.3.

oh yes, right... I forgot that Apple upped the Darwin release no. after the June release of Fink (10.4.2 probably I guess...) So you're absolutely right, that's the correct behavior then. Which, of course, doesn't prevent the fink team from releasing a version into the 10.4-transitional binary tree that's aware of 10.4.2 :-)
