Have you looked into NeoOffice/J?  It's a Java reimplementation of OpenOffice.ORG that takes X11 out of the picture; it's a native Cocoa app.

I mean, I love having the ability to do X11 stuff on my Mac, but I'd still rather use a native Mac app for serious GUI interaction.
