Claus,

The output seems to show you didn't have libgnomeui2-dev installed,
(absence of "yes" to "checking for libgnomeui-2.0 >= 1.103 bonobo- activation-2.0 libbonoboui-2.0...")
and so the configure script went in a completely different direction.

But it also indicates you were building this with CXX=g++-3.3
("checking whether g++-3.3 accepts -g...", etc) _ and probably your
gtk+2 pkg has also been built the same way, else I would have seen a number of
additional -D flags in the output of "pkg-config --cflags gtk+-2.0".
Still, this was a build of revision 6, which has nothing to enforce gcc-3.3...

Sorry _ I should know (but never used an unmodified 10.4-transitional) _
I thought that gcc-4 was enforced as default in 10.4-transitional ???
(From the context I guess the build was in 10.4-transitional/unstable)
