Are folks running into any particular issues running FINK on the new Mac
architecture?

Fink seems to be working mostly fine on Mac Intel with some 4793 packages
available. The maintainers have done a great job and must be thanked. Some
packages like g77 do not compile and packages like scipy
and scilab that depend on g77 cannot be installed using fink.

There is no Fortran compiler with the MacOS Xtools, but the gfortran compiler
at http://hpc.sourceforge.net/ that installs into /usr/local seems to work well
also for Fortran 77 and Fortran programs runs 4.5 times faster on my MacBook Pro
than on my old G4 Titanium.

The MacOS 10.4 version of Scilab 4.0 also works for Mac Intel and Mupad works
as well.

Good luck
