Hi all,
On 21/02/06, I wrote:
I get the following error message when I try to "fink selfupdate":
"rsync -az -q rsync://master.us.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo//TIMESTAMP
/sw/fink/TIMESTAMP.tmp
rsync: failed to connect to master.us.finkmirrors.net: Connection refused (61)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at
/SourceCache/rsync/rsync-20/rsync/clientserver.c(94)
### execution of rsync failed, exit code 10
Failed to fetch the timestamp file from the rsync server:
rsync://master.us.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo/. Check the error
messages above.
(1) Give up
(2) Retry the same mirror
(3) Retry another mirror from your country
(4) Retry another mirror"
Trying other mirrors through choice (4) gives the same kind of
errors, until I eventually get:
"No mirror worked. This seems unusual, please submit a short summary
of this event to [EMAIL PROTECTED]"
Since then I contacted my network administrator who confirmed that
our Firewall rules have been changed and are now extremely fierce. I
need to submit a request to open the necessary port(s) for fink to
work properly, so my question is: which port(s) should be open for
rsync, CVS and fink to work properly?
Thanks in advance,
Hervé
