Hello Jean-François,

Isn't that why people ask for help on mailing lists? To find the missing
pieces? I'm just trying to compile one piece of software, which I did
not write myself, using libraries installed from Fink.

If you can explain to me where this might be found (in the config or
Makefile of the software, perhaps?), I would gladly share it with you.

This was posted by Alexander Hanson, not me.

I will try moving those out of the way as well.

Sorry if ???'s bother you so much. I am assuming that the libs in
/usr/lib must be systems libraries. If not, then they must be leftover
from an attempt to use GentooOSX or DarwinPorts, but I could not say
which. Both installs should be cleared from this machine to the best of
my knowledge.

In short, my questions are aimed at figuring out where the possible
sources of interference are. I don't mind a bit of trial and error, so
please keep the _constructive_ suggestions coming.

d.
