On both intel and ppc macs, I've just tried it at random with a PNG,
EPS and an SVG file and saw no problems in display. Cropping worked
perfectly here. I'm using fink unstable,

imagemagick 6.2.8-1002,
System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.8 (8L2127)
Package manager version: 0.25.1
Distribution version: 0.8.1.rsync i386

Since you mentioned no special file type, I'm guessing this happens
independently of file type with your imagemagick; that certainly
looks weird (esp. that it claims it can't load Xwindow fonts). Sorry
I can't confirm it. Maybe it's an X11 problem? I'm using Apple's X11.
