Could you install xorg, and re-try ? (I did work a bit on the pkg, but only with xorg; and xorg's GL/gl.h has no typedef or other mention of GLchar). Please report back; if it works OK, I'll just replace the deps on x11 by deps on xorg in the pkg (we don't have necessarily to support all historical versions of X11 in all pkgs...) _ except if someone has a better idea.
