"foo.app" is a folder rather than a Unix executable, which is what pan is expecting. The real executable is usually something like /Applications/foo.app/Contents/MacOS/foo Another option that works is to set your URL handler command to be "open"--this will automatically open the URL in your default browser. -- Alexander K.
