Thanks for all your help. I've succeeded in installing xscorch by now. Jason: I couldn't find any gdk.h files anywhere.
I built glib manually. Then updated fink again, which to my surprise took quite long, although I had just updated it yesterday. Might have to do with the fact that I switched to 'unstable' at some point (else I couldn't try to install xscorch). I tried to install xscorch again and it failed because of some osxplay files. More selfupdating and update-all-ing and at some point xscorch compiled. Not sure if that's of any help. But thanks again for all your time and help. How would I provide my compiled code as binary to anybody? What's involved in making this 'stable'? Just in case that would help somebody else.
