I am now seeing the same. I am completely baffled. There is no change to the preceding version, and that one installed OK. > Unpacking replacement plplot-dev ... > Setting up plplot-shlibs (5.6.1-1013) ... > Setting up plplot-dev (5.6.1-1013) ... > Setting up plplot (5.6.1-1013) ... > install-info(/sw/share/info/plplotdoc.info): warning, ignoring confusing > INFO-DIR-ENTRY in file. > > No `START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY' and no `This file documents'. This is a completely bogus error message. The file is OK(*) and has a decent START-INFO-DIR-ENTRY section. And it actually gets installed and works with "info plplotdoc"! Very strange. > install-info(/sw/share/info/plplotdoc.info): unable to determine > description for `dir' entry - giving up > /sw/bin/dpkg: error processing plplot (--install): > subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 > Errors were encountered while processing: > plplot > ### execution of /sw/bin/dpkg-lockwait failed, exit code 1 (*) *Something* must be wrong with the file, because when I execute the install-info command from the postinst script by hand, I get the same error message. I don't get the error message if I run install-info on, let's say, octave.info or recode.info etc. But even staring at the file for a long time I cannot see anything wrong with it. -- Martin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
