I don't know if the people who can do the binary releases will do
just one package.
However, I was planning to _remove_ Fink's cvs from 10.5 . Our cvs-
proxy package is well behind the curve, Apple's now is the same
version as ours, and it works better; Fink's cvs-1.12.13 had issues,
at least on Panther and Tiger, bogging down on compressed transfers.
As for documenting it: I'll need help from someone who actually
uses cvs via proxy with the built-in cvs from 10.5 . I don't use
it, and the onboard documentation is admittedly not the most
transparent.
Many thanks for the suggestion, which I'm sorry to report isn't
panning out as I'd hoped. I've since been able to get a complete set
of updated .info and .patch files from another machine outside the
firewall, so I've been able to get a working fink distribution
(including a download and local build of cvs-proxy).
This is an obviously kludgy workaround, so please count me as a glad
volunteer to work with anyone who has interest & experience in getting
Leopard's built-in cvs (or rsync) to work via proxy –
