It looked to me like the package was already patched against that ubiquitous 
bug.  And indeed I had built it on 10.5 (and am currently trying to do so 
again)--otherwise I wouldn't have even tried adding the wxgtk2.8 dependency 
to gnuplot to allow the wx terminal to build.
