On my macbook I have prefered to revert to XCode 3.0 (for different reasons) and to be on the safe side I have applied the 10.5.4 combo. Now I get on the macbook:

Now the symlinks do not make sense for me: why do the libXdamage.1.*.0.dylib point to the same libXdamage.1.dylib? Usually it is the reverse, i.e. libSomeLib.1.dylib points to a revision libSomeLib.1.x.dylib, allowing to choose between libSomeLib.dylib, libSomeLib.y.dylib, or libSomeLib.z.w.dylib according the code requirements.
