Dear Alex,
After reinstalling X11-2.31 and xcode311_2517,
$ fink update-all
Information about 7474 packages read in 1 seconds.
Can't resolve dependency "system-xfree86-dev (>= 2:7.2-1)" for package
"fontconfig2-dev-2.4.1-104" (no matching packages/versions found)
Exiting with failure.
(Actually the same reprocess had been done though the number of
package seemed to be reduced now - refer to the first mail)
Is it more specific to "fontconfig2-dev-2.4.1-104" or more general?
Regards,
Akio

Dear Martin,

dpkg: xfree86-shlibs: dependencies have problems, but according to
the requests it is being removed
xfree86 is dependent on xfree86-shlibs (>= 4.5.0-1045).
qt3-shlibs is dependent on libgl-shlibs, but package libgl-shlibs
is not installed.
Package xfree86-shlibs provides libgl-shlibs and is being removed.
qt3-shlibs is dependent on x11-shlibs, but x11-shlibs is not
installed.
etc.
Summing up, x11-shlibs and x11 (or xfree86 and xfree86-shlibs) were
not installed. Please refer to my first mail on it.

Akio
On the contrary: the messages above indicate that the xfree86-
shlibs and xfree86 packages *were* installed (as your 'fink list'
indicated) but are not any longer. You should now be able to
reinstall your Leopard X11.
