It's helpful to tell us what OS you're on, because of differences in OS
versions.
libfontconfig.la is a symbolic link on 10.5 and later. Try "fink
rebuild fontconfig2-dev ; fink reinstall fontconfig2-dev" (make sure
it's reinstalled).
