If you don't need any information from your current Fink installation,  
you can simply remove the /sw folder and reinstall Fink.

These are two different problems. One is that the local/injected tree  
was removed from your Fink installation (IIRC it is removed soon after  
a successful installation or upgrade) but the corresponding entry in / 
sw/etc/fink.conf wasn't removed. You can do it manually by editing /sw/ 
etc/fink.conf: look for the Trees: entry and remove local/injected  
from it.

The other problem is that perl586 fails to build. We'll need more  
information; please provide a transcript of the output starting just  
before errors occur.

We need more precise information here. What are the packages that seem  
to be corrupted, and how does such corruption manifest itself? Also,  
general information such as OS version, Xcode version, and Fink  
version are usually helpful for diagnosis.
