I do too _ and in a much more comprehensive way : assume a priori that anything is tex-live is better kept up-to-date than corresponding fink pkgs. (Eg, "ctan-other-misc" for a dreadful example!) Sure, this assumes texlive itself is kept completely up-to-date... So _ give us a complete tex-live _ and just conflict (and provide ?) with any fink pkgs providedby tex-live.
