Oh, OK, so foomatic-filters are also not useable (since they depend on ghostscript-esp). In any event, I reverted back to ghostscript and installed foomatic-fitlers from source instead of through fink... The source did not complain about needing the ESP variant or anything and everything seems to work well. Thank you for getting back to me.
