Dead wrong.

It's a bit ranty, indeed.

This isn't from *wget*, per se.

Package: wget (1.13.4-2)
To install the compiled package...
   The following other packages (and their dependencies) must be installed:
     gnutls26-shlibs
     libgcrypt-shlibs
     libgettext8-shlibs
     libgpg-error-shlibs
     libiconv
     libidn-shlibs
   The following other packages must not be installed:
     fink ( << 0.24.11-1 )
     wget-ssl ( << 1.10.1-1 )
To compile this package from source...
   The following packages are also compiled at the same time:
     [none]
   The following other packages (and their dependencies) must be installed:
     fink-package-precedence
     gettext-bin ( >= 0.17-19 )
     gettext-tools ( >= 0.17-17 )
     gnutls26
     gnutls26-shlibs
     libgcrypt
     libgcrypt-shlibs
     libgettext8-dev
     libgettext8-shlibs
     libgpg-error
     libgpg-error-shlibs
     libiconv
     libiconv-dev
     libidn
     libidn-shlibs
   The following other packages must not be installed:
     [none]

The wget maintainer added the dependencies that wget _upstream_ now
requires, rather than openssl, and you're seeing the build trees for
those.

The wget maintainer is not responsible for how _those_ packages are built.
