For the record, it seems that libidn (a new Dep for wget with the new gnutls requirement) is the 'culprit' for bringing in all those dependencies since it BuildDepends on gtk-doc. If there is a "fix" for this, it would be to patch libidn to not need gtk-doc - have the libidn docs as a separate package - but I have no idea if that is possible at all.
