You seem to need an X11 installation.

I am still using Mac OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard, so I can't give exact answers, 
but I am sure that Lion also offers X11, an user and a developer package. I 
have installed.

        com.apple.pkg.X11DocumentationLeo
        com.apple.pkg.X11SDKLeo
        com.apple.pkg.X11User

(output from pkgutil --pkgs). The first one might not be needed, it just 
contains the MAN pages, the second package has the needed C header files, and 
the needed third package contains the run-time environment.

I'm not sure how Fink can be taught to learn that X11 is now installed. Maybe 
it works to invoke

        fink install system-pkgconfig-x11 system-xfree86 system-xfree86-dev 
system-xfree86-shlibs system-xfree86-manual-install

(package names from Snow Leopard). The last package name corresponds with 
com.apple.pkg.X11DocumentationLeo.
