Ld should not be able to find anything in /usr/local! When you try to install any Fink package make sure that /usr/local is not accessible! This can be done by temporarily renaming /usr/local into /usr/local-fink-safe or such. And then, after the Fink installation had finished, renaming it back. Another option is to remove all this stuff from /usr/local that is also installed with Fink.
