This was indeed the problem. It was actually gcc46.
I removed it and now everything compiles fine.
I still don't have the LAPACK (atlas) package installed though.
Problem is that I already have some libraries in /usr/local which are built
for 64 bit compiler and I don't feel like changing these. This would mean
reinstalling these which would take quite some time. So I wonder how I
could install LAPACK on my Macbook (Mac OS X version 10.6.8) such that I
can compile it with my gfortran? This question is not really related to
fink anymore though, so thank you all very much!
