TheSin, looking through the history of the debianutils.info (an 
Essential package), I see that you had set the po4a build-depends that 
Snaggle mentioned, but did not alter po4a itself despite very explicit 
notes in core pacakges that deps of Essential must also be Essential. 
That's a technical problem that is now moot since po4a is no longer 
needed. Going the other way, I'd like to amplify others and say that 
it's hella-rude to haul in tex just to get some docs for a simple 
utilities package! Tex is huge and has historically been something of a 
moving target and susceptible to problems of its own. We really need 
fink core coordination for changes to essential packages (and 
especially the lists of dependecies of them) to make sure we're not 
making a mess.
