Thanks. I applied the patch, and ran fink rebuild fribidi It looks that the c2man warnings are gone, but still mplayer cannot resolve the right library.
I also tried "fink reinstall fribidi" and the two commands (rebuild and reinstall) with fribidi-shlibs, to no avail. (I'm getting a bit confused at this point, but I'm willing to run some further test you may find useful).
