Thanks, now mplayer correctly loads the library! Can we call this
touch workaround a fix and claim victory? (It seems it worked for more
than one person.)

As a side note, now every time mplayer starts, it only outputs:
/* This file was automatically generated by t1_generate_luts.c */
And a series of C matrices dumps, but I guess that's for another bug
report? :-) (Or there's a known quick fix for that?)
