i renamed /sw/bin/tar to something else and relaunched
   'fink update dpkg'
after deleting the previous (tar-bugged) version of
dpkg_1.10.21-1238_darwin-x86_64.deb
and it now works fine.
i presume it's now using /usr/bin/tar instead of /sw/bin/tar - does it mean
that /sw/bin/tar is bugged somehow?
do you suggest i should selfupdate fink with the same trick,
or rather wait until /sw/bin/tar is updated ?
