Above compilation with GNU Emacs finishes. Below another utility, install-info, 
fails.

Presumingly the proper error, creating the INFO file from its TEXINFO source, 
happened earlier, and presumingly because of your too new version of texinfo, 
5.1.


Alexander recommended:

> As a workaround, try "dpkg -r --force-depends texinfo", and then you 
> should be able to build […].  Then go ahead and use "fink install 
> texinfo" to put that back in place.
