I've seen this happen before and it seems to be caused by having an older Xcode 
installed and then updating to 10.9. Did you reinstall Xcode 5 after updating 
to 10.9? You might still have 10.8's Xcode 5 installed which is not compatible 
with 10.9. Or you might have reinstalled Xcode but still have the 10.8 command 
line tools. You have some mixture of 10.8 and 10.9 headers.
